Non-profit social enterprise

Accessible audiobooks

Accessible audiobook production for people with print disabilities.

01 — About

Who we are

Our organization

Audio accessible is a non-profit social enterprise born from the vision of three specialists passionate about audio accessibility, literature, and inclusive technologies. Our strength: a team of over 30 narrators dedicated to our mission.

We are supported by a board of directors drawn from diverse backgrounds, bringing us the perspective and creativity needed to achieve our goals and contribute to a more inclusive society, one book at a time.

Our mission: to promote the autonomy of people with a print disability by giving them access to information and literature through the production of accessible audio content.

Our values

  • Accessibility for all

Removing barriers to information and literature.

  • Right to knowledge and entertainment

Ensuring culture is a common good for everyone.

  • Support for local ecosystems

A firm commitment to local booksellers and cultural vitality.

  • Inclusion and diversity

Reflecting the richness of our communities in our productions.

02 — Services

Our productions

We work with publishers, libraries and businesses to produce high-quality accessible audio content in both French and English. Driven by a dedicated team of experts and supported by leading technology, we transform your content into inclusive listening experiences, tailored for people with print disabilities.

DAISY 2.02 Format

We specialize in DAISY 2.02 production, the international standard for digital audio accessibility. The DAISY format allows intelligent navigation: by chapter, section, or page, with bookmarking capabilities. This technology gives users complete control over the content, equivalent to that of a sighted reader.

Alternative Texts

Alternative text writing and integration (Alt Text): making images and graphics comprehensible during audio playback.

Translation

Translation services available in French, English and select Indigenous languages.
